Nearly
a century ago, the "Boiler Code" from the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ASME) was developed to establish standard rules for
the construction of steam boilers and other pressure vessels. Born to
promote safety through pressure integrity, it also furnished standards that
any state could use for boilers installed within its borders. Today, the
ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) is used in over 70 countries,
and is adopted (in whole or in part) by all 50 states and numerous
municipalities and territories of the United States, and all of the
provinces of Canada.
Learn
about the Code, Critical 2010 Updates, and Streamlined Access including:
- A concise overview of the Boiler
Code – who needs it and why, what it covers (and what it
doesn't), the regulatory requirements – and how this affects
you.
- A preview of the 2010 Code –
what's new, what's changing – including technological advances
to materials, construction, fabrication methods, inspection,
certification, and overpressure protection.
- Options available to your company
for accessing the Code....from hardcopy in binders, to PDF delivery,
to dynamic online interactive tools.
- Case studies of successful uses
and implementations of the Boiler Code, including a world class
manufacturer of pressure relief valves that leveraged the Boiler and
Pressure Vessel Code online with advanced tools to drive lean
operational excellence.
Supply
& Demand Chain Executive will lead ASME and IHS through an
informative discussion on the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and how to
best utilize this critical standard to improve safety and operational
efficiency, and ensure compliance.
Presenters
will hold a live Q&A session to conclude the 60 minute agenda.
